β€œIt is by far the grandest of all the special temples of Nature I was ever permitted to enter."
β€” John Muir, Letters to a Friend, July 26, 1868 (about Yosemite)

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir serves as a crucial water supply for San Francisco and surrounding areas. Surrounded by rugged granite cliffs and lush forests, the reservoir was formed by the construction of the O'Shaughnessy Dam in the early 20th century. While it provides vital resources, the reservoir has also sparked significant debate over environmental concerns and conservation efforts, as it was once a glacial valley comparable to that of Yosemite.
